There has already been one highly successful attempt to convert Power Tab files to Lilypond, see Power Tab Tools
The support for tablatures within Lilypond has been greatly extended and is actively developed. The idea of this page is to present an Lilypond equivalent notation for each and every Power Tab notation. Those that are not readily available will be forwarded to the Lilypond development team.
Ultimately, this will lead to an ptb2ly converter, such that all Power Tab files can be continued to be worked on using other editors.
